Charles A. Voerster Charles A. Voerster is on the Board of Directors of the Shihan-Ryu Institute of Martial Arts. He was recently appointed to the Board of Directors, United States Ju-Jitsu Federation. Sensei Voerster is currently teaching Shihan-Ryu Ju-Jitsu for the Magnificent Mile of Martial Arts in Norman Oklahoma. He began his studies of the Martial Arts in 1958. His first instructor was SGT Robert Morris, (Retired) in the art of JuJitsu. In 1973, after several years of studying with Shihan Sensei John Chaffin, he received the "Joshu Sensei" classification in both Judo & JuJitsu in the American Martial Arts Society (AMAS). For many years, Sensei Voerster taught Judo & JuJitsu with the AMAS. In 1981, Sensei Voerster worked closely with Sensei Bruce Bethers to merge the AMAS with the European Armed Forces Martial Arts Association and form the United States Martial Arts Association (USMAA). He has been a very active Board Member of the USMAA and continues to be an active leader in the United States Ju-Jitsu Federation. Sensei Voerster holds Black Belt ranking in Kodokan Judo, Shihan-Ryu JuJitsu, Kito-Ryu JuJitsu and Tenshin Shinyo-Ryu JuJitsu. He has also trained in Shotokan Karate, Tae Kwon Do, as well as Aikido. Sensei Voerster has 40 years of extensive study in the Martial Arts and continues to teach both Beginners as well as advanced Black Belts in the Arts of JuJitsu & Judo. Sensei Voerster lives in Norman, Oklahoma where he is employed as the Senior Engineering Technician for Clour Engineering of Oklahoma, Inc. Sensei Voersters Current Martial Art Ranks:
