Billy R. Hames Billy is the head of the Hames Shihan-Ryu Karate & Ju-Jitsu located in Norman, Oklahoma. Billy's Martial Arts training began in the 1970s in Shihan-Ryu Karate-do. A skilled Martial Artist and competitor, Billy has won many Championships in Weapons Kata. Billy has trained with numerous instructors in Karate, JuJitsu and Kobudo. Billy is an expert with the sword, bo, sai and other Kobudo weapons. Billy has studied the Japanese language at the University of Oklahoma and is fluent in both reading and writing Japanese. His skills as a Martial Artist extend to his teaching as well. Billy has produced several champions in both empty hand and weapons Kata competition. In addition to his Martial Arts activities, Billy is employed by the State of Oklahoma and his the co-owner of the High Hopes Equestrian Center in Norman, Oklahoma. Billy has recently been appointed to the Board of Directors of the United States Ju-Jitsu Federation. Billy's current Martial Arts ranks are as follows:
